However the tyranids are spamming units as fast as I am and their lictors are wiping out my hp chaos spawn meatshields out in 1 hit, it's a tug of war, I fall back 1 line, the run in and get slaughtered, then I attack to finish of the retreaters only to run into their counterattack.
So I killed the imperial guard and necros. Showing 1 - 4 of 4 comments. Obliterators in cover are pretty tanky and their normally crappy flamethrower works good against the Tyranids. The big go to unit will be Defilers. Three range, ignores overwatch, and a devastating melee. They can take anything the Tyranids have.
Lictors hit like a mule and have melee overwatch but are rather squishy so focus fire them down as fast as you see them. The new land raider might be useful as well with lots of armor and health. Loaded with Obliterators they'd be pretty effective and mobile. Originally posted by KDubya :. Benandorf Waaargh! Orkz Ruinz me Life!

That means that only infantry starts on the board, right? I'm really not that familiar with escalation rules. Quote from: ShadowSax. Quote from: Benandorf on January 11, , PM.
The Living Artillery rule confuses folks a lot, which is why I mentioned it. But it is just a special rule, not a unit description. Zoans are infantry, so they start on the board. Biovores, oddly enough, are also infantry. There is very little actual 'artillery' in 40K, and it is labeled specifically as such. Ork, and maybe eldar?
Warriors are also infantry. Ah, you're right! I had mis-read the rule. My bad. And this is why I always advise people to look up the rule themselves. Either before, or after, getting an answer. Instead of sweeping advance edit: Now you should look it up in the BGB to make sure 1 What is correct 2 If there is anything else that was missed 3 It was stated correctly 4 you read it correctly.
Carnifexes are really useful for blowing up tanks. Get all Broodlords and Stealers and Lictors to attack his tactical squads. And release havoc with everything else!!! He has never beat me so probably it's gonna be real hard 4 u to beat space marines.
Mwahahahaaa a! Windowlicker Full Member Posts: Drop Pods would annoy me though actually. How do you guys deal with them? Just hope the marines popping out dont kill too many stealers?
I've only played SM once, and it wasn't a full game. Thankfully, anything I touched with my genestealers were desimated thanks to some lucky rending rolls. He never used Apothocary though, so I'll suggest what works for everything Charge it with genestealers. If you have the extra pieces, convert some out of Hormogaunt bodies, and give them fleshborers.
I use Spinefists for their wings, but you could also use the barrell of a devourer aswell. It's a big difference if he only has the macragge set, as apposed to an actual battleforce, and considerng you got the OTHER half of that set Well, no wonder he never beats you. If your post was clearly just a jest, then disregard everything I've said. You have a pretty good amount of models Shadowsax, I'd just suggest getting more hormagaunts I suppose.
Ivellos Junior Member Posts: Well considering I haven't went out and purchased a digital camera yet, I'll try and explain best I can. Firstly, I use gaunt bodies instead of hormagaunt ones too precious at the moment. There's two ways you can do it. One is you drill two holes into the gaunts up most carapace, closest to the head, but about where that spike starts forming.
And then just glue the spinefist arms into the holes, and cover over it with greenstuff. If you some leftover thin tubing, like say from thin wires or something, you can run the tube along the back into the hump that the spinefist sockets will make under the greenstuff, so it looks like some sort of biomorph jetpack. And then angle them however you'd like so it looks like they're maneuvering. If you buy the termagaunt blister pack, you can get them pretty cheaply if you know where to look, and all you'll need are the spinefists.
Then just drill a whole in the hormagaunts crotch region, and the stick a flying base in there. And there you go, some cheap gargoyles. They may or may not look as good as the actual kind, but depending on your modelling skills, who knows. Pages: [ 1 ] Go Up. Powered by EzPortal. All for one CP. What Danny was saying is that the big units of Gants are amazing for board control. I am currently playing nids competitively and while it is a challenge feel they have everything you need to win.
Behemoth stealers with the new psychic power are gruesome, they blender stuff. The issue is Stealers tend to be a one hitter-quitter unit. They come in hot, kill something then die. You really have to learn how to play them correctly. Move them into hiding in a good spot and then come out only when you really need them in later turns of the game.
So there you have it; Tyranids are fine……. What does your Tyranid list look like currently Reece? T-fires outrange Biovores too.
Yeah, Warriors are so good now with PA. They can put out a lot of firepower. WIth that, a Kronos batt with all the heavy hitting stuff. Contrary at what fluff says, Tyranids are not an unstoppable swarm of locusts, they are a bunch of rabbits. In this metaphor, SMs are hunters with shotguns. So, avoid contact as much as you can. Sacrifice some units to keep them busy.
Use those sacrifices to deny as many objectives as you can, while you score the safe objectives. Playing for the draw is the realistic approach. Name Required.

Let alone fliers. NOW what about large blobs of genestealers to go with the Broodlords instead? Genestealers, say hello to my Thunderfire Cannons. Fancy a slow stroll through the kill-zone?
